About
As Curator
of the New England Quilt Museum, I create shows or invite others to
curate our exhibitions, and oversee the 400+ collection of contemporary
and antique quilts.
For eight
years I was the executive director of ABC Quilts in Northwood, NH.
ABCQ‘s dual mission was to send handmade quilts to babies and
young children around the world born HIV positive or drug affected.
As a
state-juried member of the League of NH Craftsmen, I make traditional
and art quilts, although my current work is to interpret Civil War
soldiers quilts.
I am a
quilt historian and in 2010 published in Uncoverings, “One Foot Square,
Quilted and Bound—a survey of potholder quilts”. Potholder quilts are
constructed of individually finished blocks. In 2004, with Loretta
Chase, I published a paper on inscribed quilts, “A Blue Hills Quilt--to
Miss Charlotte Hawkins.”
I live in
southern New Hampshire with my ancient Chocolate Labrador, Coco the
Wonder dog.
